How else would you Discover Your City?
At BeersNGears, we have taken what Ernest Hemingway once said, and created a no-drop, group bike ride from it. It’s called “Discover Your City” and the point of these rides is to discover the city we live in atop our favorite bike.
We ride our bikes to local businesses to learn about the owner’s, their story and what they sell, and in the process, discover ways to navigate by bike throughout our city that you may have never considered.
One of my favorite stories is from a ride we did to Twin City Hive where we learned about Coffee Co-Mission from the founder, Daniel Ehrlich. Daniel wanted to start a coffee roaster because of his passion for creating the best coffee roasts possible from the best ingredients possible, but he quickly realized how much poverty was linked to the coffee industry. Something he ultimately was not able to overlook and made it part of his business’ mission to support ending poverty and inspire social change. And he’s right here in Winston, roasting away on some coffee beans and changing the world, one bag of coffee at a time!
