About the Event

NOTICE:

IF YOU ARE RSVP'ING AFTER 10AM OCTOBER 30 PLEASE RSVP AND EMAIL AMY@BEERSNGEARS.COM TO GET A COPY OF THE MANIFEST

BeersNGears has been hosting an annual HalloWheels Bicycle Festival since 2014. There is always lots of beer, costumes, and bike riding. This year will be a bit different but it's still going to be a blast. We've put together 3 events that you can do at your own pace and any time Halloween weekend (October 30-November 1). Below is a brief description of each event so you can get an idea but you have to RSVP in order to get the full manifest on October 30. As always, these activities are free and open to everyone. We hope you will get your family and friends to join in on the fun. There will be goody bags for those who complete special challenges. Check out the event info below and be sure to RSVP if you're interested in participating.

Black Cat BINGO

Everyone gets a bingo card filled with various activities to complete while riding bikes. Things like visiting a landmark and taking a photo with your bike, or getting a beer (or non-alcoholic drink) at point X, or answering a question about something at point Y. The goal is to complete the activities and get five in a row. The first two riders who submit proof of getting BINGO get a goody bag. Additionally, any riders who dare to complete everything on the BINGO card (in one day) will also get a special goody bag. Finally, do a drawing for one more goody bag - anyone who submits proof of getting BINGO is entered. No matter how much you do, you’re sure to discover new places, get some fresh air and good exercise, and have fun.

Autumn Leaves Ride

We’ve done this for a couple years and folks seem to like it, especially the roadies. Start downtown and ride to West Bend Winery in Lewisville. There you can enjoy some drinks, outdoor games, and possibly live music. We’ll provide the cue sheet and you can ride on your own or with friends. You may even cross paths with fellow bikers who are also enjoying cool fall temps, changing leaves, and local wine. The whole trip is about 40 miles. If you’re not up to that you can ride ~20 miles there and get a friend to meet you and drive you home. To sweeten the deal, anyone who submits proof of completing the Autumn Leaves Rise will be entered into a drawing for a goody bag.

Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Last but not least, the Spooky Scavenger Hunt. This is many folks favorite part of HalloWheels each year. There will be two options to choose from: moderate (about 10 miles) and challenging (>15 miles and more stops). The hunt will take you across town to discover some spooky places, see some creepy stuff, and complete some fun activities. You can do these any time of day but it's best at night, in the dark! The person who completes the Challenging route the fastest and the person who does it in the shortest distance will get a goody bag. Additionally, everyone who sends in proof of completing the hunt - Standard or Challenging routes - will be entered into a drawing and we’ll pick one winner at random.

Costume Contest

No HalloWheels is complete without a costume contest so we're looking for the best costume worn during the HalloWheels Weekender and best decorated bike. Photos should be submitted by November 2 and winners will be announced on November 3 and get a super cool goody bag.

Again, all of these activities can be done any time between October 30 and November 1. You can make it as easy or challenging as you want, ride during that day or at night, drink a beer at every stop or stay 100% sober... it’s up to you to choose your own adventure. One thing is for sure, we all need to get outside and enjoy riding our bikes given everything going on these days and we think you’ll enjoy HalloWheels 2020.

RSVP to say you’re coming and get the full details in your inbox on October 30.
